It depends on your body.. for every woman it's a different experience and the best advice i got is not to waste my energy by screaming during contractions, instead breathe through it. Mine didn't hurt that much (total labour took like 2 hours) but i was very sore and in my experience the most painful part of it was my first pee-moment after birth (damn i screamed) but once u see your lil angel it's all worth the pain. P.s.: i had no epidural, no cutting, all natural.

It's different with everyone some women can handle contractions and the birth and maybe say it was at a 5 in pain level (which I would say). And others say contractions don't hurt but pushing does then others say contractions hurt but pushing doesn't. I have had two natural births. I was in labor for 26 hours (due to my water breaking) with my first (the last 7 hours were active labor meaning I was 5cm dilated with consistent contractions. I also had bad back labor. With my second I was walking/talking through all my contractions (It was a homebirth) and I was able to talk while my babies head was coming out.

My contractions hurt at about a 7 level before I got the epidural. Had to get it if I wanted to sleep that night. Best decision I could have made. Woke up feeling contractions, not too bad but uncomfortable around a 5 on pain scale. Before I had my son I pushed the magical blue button that delivers more medication in the epidural and literally hardly felt anything. First baby he was 40 weeks and  came out 8 pounds. Very easy for me but not everyone gets so lucky. Expecting bany number 2, 5 months later hoping it goes just as smoothly

Totally true. You feel absolutely no pain after the baby is born if you don't get an epidural. You get a magical rush of hormones :)

Thank you ladies. I'm just curious because I had my first baby 2013 and I had him all natrual I did see and hear many women screaming in pain but when I had mine I was so happy with no pain I was on google laughing at jokes I found.. I'm going to have my second on October and the doctor say chances are this time won't be so easy

Yes it hurts but I think going with no epidural is worth it. I did it with my first and plan to with this one too. Would never consider an epidural unless medically necessary. I would say contractions are worse than the pushing just because they go on for hours.  And the pushing is such a short time.

Yes giving birth hurts!!! You might wanna go on YouTube and watch a woman give birth natural without any medication like the epidural..the contractions are a 10 worst pain I have ever felt in my life but it was all worth it after I had my baby. I had to get a epidural because the contractions where to strong. While I was waiting for my baby to come there was a lady screaming at the top of her lungs across the hall while she had her baby and she didn't get a epidural. So I would recommend to get the epidural because it helped me relax so much and as soon as I got it I didn't feel pain just pressure. But yes giving birth hurts I couldn't imagine not getting a epidural. I'm due in November and I plan on getting one this time.
