I dont think the e cig etc are the same really especially if they have no nicotine. No nicotine... no tar... Therefore not the same.

A lot of girls freak out over this... just try to keep slowly quitting and you'll be fine. I know how hard itwas at first but you'll get thru it. Maybe consider gegetting a Vape ciggerett thing with no nicotine. That's what my friend did and it helped a lot

Thats the thing EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT and her Dr suggested to cut down. Instead of telling her "why get pregnant", tell her things that are uplifting and encouraging! We are here to support each other! She is trying and she asking for advice! Dont discredit that, bc of her habits that she is trying to get rid of. I know most of you mean well, and have no intention to hurt anyones feelings but really think about how your saying things! This is a delicate time for everyone, so why put anyone down?

Your best option is to talk to your doctor for advice. You read all these ladies opinions. There are two sides.  One says to quit cold turkey.  Others say don't. My sister in law was told by her doctor not to when you're pregnant. It would cause more problems then not.  Others would probably say to. It would probably depend on your body. And how far a long you are. But ask your doctor

HEY.
I know how you feel.
I'm 7 weeks. I found out at 6 weeks.
Right when I found out I quit smoking cigarettes. Cold turkey. I smoked a pack to two packs a day.
It may seem hard. But its easy. Think about your baby. I wanted my baby to be healthy and I didn't want to chance anything.. I haven't even thought about smoking again. Its hard, but it's for your baby. Being a first time mommy. I'm nervous enough. I couldn't possibly continue to smoke and be okay with that. Everyone's different. I know. Be strong. Trust your struggle.

I saw that ultrasound pictures of the baby reacting to a mother while smoking on a different pregnancy website you can use Google to search for the specific pictures they are intense when compared to a non smoker, first trimester is the most risky I hope you quit soon as hard as it is for some people
I've never understood how someone can smoke or drink while carrying another life it's selfish

Okay, so saying you can't quit cold turkey is bogus. I've known multiple people quit cold turkey. That's just an excuse because you don't want to give up the nicotine. All I'm all, think of it this way...... That precious bundle of joy inside you has no choice but to in take the cigarette, just as you do..... Not only that your in the most important stage right now in pregnancy. Truly,if giving up cigarettes for at least 8 more months isn't worth it... Why get pregnant?

When I found out I was pregnant, I quit cold turkey. The stress I was going through at the moment wasn't worth having a cigarette, and risking her being born with issues that could affect her for the rest of her life. I have craved cigarettes, don't get me wrong but I just kept thinking of my baby girl. Keep your head up. Try counselling during your pregnancy. Talking through it might help :)

Im sorry, but your just rude. Calling her a ***** is just uncalled for and an unfit mother? Who are you to judge? Im all for expressing opinions but if you cant express them tactfully and not be a judgemental prude, then keep your opinions to yourself. She was seeking advice and support, not to be put down and be felt worthless.
But back to the issue at hand, your doing a great job by slowing down, just keep doing just that, i know you can do it! I know its hard mama, but take pride in the fact that you are doing the best you can and itll motivate you to slow down even faster. Build yourself up and try other things like exercising, going on a walk, taking a warm bath with music!

LOOK AT THE PICTURES OF BABY IN.THE WOMB OF A MOTHER WHO SMOKES IF THAT DOESN'T CHANGE YOUR MIND OR MAKE U THINK TWICE YOU SHOULDN'T BE A MOM !!! honestly the danger your doing to ur child because of an addiction if you cant stop give ur child a chance and give it up for adoption. Youll most likely have cancer by the time he/she is five anyway. If you cant quite by seeing those pictures of those poor baboes covering theirs eyes scared because their mom's killing them then ur a cold hearted ***** ! your a mom now that means ur needs come second your child is first if u cant step up to the plate give ur kid up

I quit cold turkey at 12 weeks cause the smell of smoke actually made me sick. (Some times morning sickness can be a life saver, lol) I could see someone take a drawl off a cigarette and I would throw up cause it made me so sick to the thought. I haven't smoked in months. I'm now 31 weeks and still going strong. I'm not gonna say I didn't have a craving for it, everyone around me smoked. So, sometimes it was hard but it got easier if I'd just take a second and think about my little boy wiggling around in my belly. I hope things get better for you!

My cousin tried to quit cold turkey and got so sick from the stress that she almost lost her baby. Her doctor told her not to quit but to at least cut down. So yes it CAN be dangerous. Depends on the person.

I'm not saying it's right to smoke during pregnancy( I'm very against it) but my mom did and all 3 of her kids were healthy. The only thing with her pregnancies were they were all early. Her first was 6 and a half weeks early and only weighed 4 pounds, her 2nd was 4 weeks and I was only 2 weeks.

I quit cold turkey when i found out I was pregnant.... my doctor said it was the best way to do it because it increases risk of miscarraige and low birth weight etc. Just think of your baby everytime you go to reach for one and it will stop you. trust me I known the urge to smoke is bad but once you get over the first week without them it does get easier though I promise that I have been off them over 4 months now :) YOU CAN DO IT :)

It's not dangerous to quit cold turkey. Just think about what it does to you and your baby! Also try black licorice? I've heard that works really good when craving a cigarette.

Googled it and some articles said it was okay some said to gradually quit...guess it depends on the doctor...second off the nicotine gum patch and pills are more harmful so why would he want to give me something thats more harmful DUH! Plus he never said once anything about the pills...so there goes hes just wanting to get money out of me theory out the window... Plus EVERYBODY is different not everyone will be able to just quit.,,anywho thank you ladies ill continue to try and do my best and also look at the pictures videos that some of you said to look at.
