I had the kind of pain you are refering to once...well twice actually......both times it was caused by the rupture of an ovarian cyst and both times I had brown spotting with it.

I also used to get HORRIBLE pain mid cycle... but only on certain months and only ever on my left side... I always figured it was just really painful ovulation on that side.
What type of pain pills did your OB call in for you?? I know that a lot of those are safe during pregnancy if taken under a Dr supervision. Its usually better for you to take a medication then suffer from pain and the stress that it causes. Maybe if you are really concerned put a call into your OB tomorrow (or research online) the side effects of the med during pregnancy??
Good Luck! I hope you feel better soon! If not maybe put in another call to your OB.

Thanks for your response! I really dont think its ovulation though! I believe I ovulated a week ago and had some light spotting about 4 days ago so I am really confused! Grrr... I called my OB and he sent me a perscription for the pain but I am afraid to take it in the case that I may infact be pregnant and its just my uterus streching a pulling! IDK maybe I should just take it because it hurts! Thanks agian

ovulation for sure!  I get HORRRRRRIBLE ovulation pain.  Look up "mittelschmerz."  My ovulation pain, even though it only lasted maybe 48 hours at most, was much, much worse than my period pain.  And that is bad because I have endometriosis which results in very painful periods.  But, the good news is that if you are TTC, it makes it much easier to know when it is the best time to get preggers!  When that pain starts, get busy!  If, of course, you are trying!  Good luck to ya!
