due is in 11 days...going crazy...any ideas to get things going?

the title says it all! i am 38wks and 3days pregnant with my 3rd child and feeling completely miserable. at my last appointment a few days ago i was 2cm and 50% effaced. i know that is no indication of when labor will begin seeing as how i was 2cm/80% with my first child for 3wks!

anyway, i can't sleep any more...i cant and dont want to move around, my back is killing me due to all this weight i have gained (32lbs)...UGH!

i have tried walking around...up and down stairs...sex...castor oil (which did NOTHING!)...eating pineapple...nipple stimulation...i feel like i have exacerbated every possible natural labor inducing method known to man and im going crazy!

any one have any ideas?!?

hi, i no this sound stupid but i was told hot/spicy food is ment to help bring your labour on, aswell as walking squat and sex although sex didnt wrk for me, everytime i had sex i bled. but that was when i was so far gone into my 1st pregnancy. tmi i know sorry. but try hangin in there ur baby will b here soon enough, good luck ;)

Having sex worked for me.  We went in for my 37 week  appt and my DH  and I looked at each other and thought 'okay - baby's safe now' and i was having contractions with in 24 hrs of having sex. the baby was born less than 24 hrs after that! good luck and hang in there!

Try doing squats (while holding onto something), bouncing on a big exercise ball, run/walk, walk up and down the stairs, have SEX if you can (I never really could at that point).

And at your next appointment, have your doc sweep your membranes. They did this to me with both pregnancies and I had each daughter born within 24 hours.

i agree with sweetangel i am 39 weeks and a few days and all the dr's told me id go early...so much for that!!!! i tried everything as well...im pretty miserable. I think the baby will come when the time is right. hang in there and good luck! have a quick and easy delivery and a healthy baby :)

seriously go for a RUN!!!!!! i did that around my local park, must have looked crazy but it sure worked!
