The crusty stuff on his head sounds like cradle cap. My son had that and I would but aquaphor on it and let it soften up a bit then I would VERY GENTLY comb it out. The pimples on his face are likely baby acne, not eczema.

my son has eczema since he was 3 weeks old..he also has heat rash at the same time which at first i confused between the two. I now learnt which part of his skin that has eczema and which part doesnt. And yes, eczema should exhibit dry patches on the skin that felt rough to the touch while heat rashes are pimply. My son eczena started out on the cheek and later it gets on the head and on his back. Eczema on the head will exhibit yellow crust which what they call craddle cap? (i may be wrong on the name) and this yellow crust may appear in the ear lobe. my son has those and after few oppointments to the doctor, he confirmed he is allergic to the cow's protein in the formula so we switched his formula to Soy (Isomil) and eczema on the face disssapeared now followed by the one on the head.

he still have eczema on his back but that is triggred by sweat since he is on his back all the time and the environment here is hot and humid. but he doesnt seems itchy and been sleeping and feeding well.

hope my answers help.

I DONT THINK IT COULD BE ECZEMA I HAVE ECZEMA AS WELL AS MY CHILDREN AND IT IS PATCHES OF SEVERELY DRY SKIN. IT MAY CRACK BUT IS NOT PIMPLY. IT SHOULD GO AWAY ON ITS OWN AND COULD BE HEAT RASH BECAUSE BABIES DONT REGULATE HEAT OR COLD THE WAY WE DO SO EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY THINK HE IS NOT IN THE HEAT JUST YOU HOLDING HIM OR SWADDLING HIM IN A BLANKET COULD BE THE CAUSE.

My kids have eczema, cause they got it from their dad.  That doesn't sound like eczema.

Babies get baby acne.  It's normal, it's just their little pours starting to work.  It goes away.  Just make sure you DON'T pop them.  It very well could be a heat rash too.  Some times when their snuggling with you, it's get really warm, and that can cause it.

It all goes away on it's own.  Also if it was eczema it'd be patchy.  Like a patch 1in in diameter, and it wouldn't look like pimples.
