embarrassed by belly size :(

So I finally posted my belly pic. I am so embarrassed by how big I am already. If you look at my picture I look to be about 20wks? I'm actually only 13wks though! None of my clothes fit anymore and I feel disgusting :(  I get asked how far along I am and when I say 'just about 13wks', I get rude comments like 'wow! I'd have suspected about 5 months'. It hurts and I know I am big, but I can not help it. I have only gained 4lbs and I wasn't a big girl pre-pregnancy. Yes, this is my 5th pregnancy (3rd child), but seriously!?! This big already?

**Please look! Does it look like 'baby' or does it look like extra weight?**

My brothers girlfriend had that big pregnancy belly early too. I just think everybody is different in the way they carry. Also I do believe that if your pregnancy belly is big in the beginning it is a sign that you are having a baby girl. Everybody I know is having a girl right now and their bellies are really big and were really big at just 14 - 18 weeks. My brothers girlfriend looked like she was 7 months when she was just 3 months.
I'm having a boy and still so people don't even notice I'm pregnant at 31 weeks.

You have a BEAUTIFUL baby belly. And lemme tell you, even tho this is my first baby, in the beginning I was small, then I grew and looked big for my size (like 15-20w) now ppl say I'm small again. I'm 31w3d

I've put on about 7.5lbs... that's after losing a pound this last week or so... I don't know why either. :)

he's growing like a weed tho!

Be proud of your belly, it is beautiful!! You have a growing life in there and you look wonderful. People always comment on my belly too, asking me "are you sure there's only one in there?"... ugh, that is so rude, but I just shrug it off. I feel proud of my belly and I'd MUCH rather have it be on the big side than be too small. Carry it proudly and enjoy your pregnancy - you look great!

I wouldn't be embarrased i would be THRILLED to actually look pregnant.  I am NINE MONTHS and people still go "HUH? YOUR PREGNANT?" when i say something about maternity leave...do they think i'm just fat?!?!?!  I say cherish it...no need to be embarrassed...you have a wonderful reason for that belly!!!!!!

I didnt read all of the other posts but I will tell you about my belly.  Take a look at my pregnancy pics on my profile.  At three months I went to visit my DHs grandma in the hospital. and me and my MIL was in the elevator and there were two nurses with us.  My MIL said something about me being fat and that I was pregnant and the nurses said ya we can tell you are pregnant and they said that I looked to be 6 Months pregnant.  OMG made me feel horrible.  and I told them i was only 3 months and I thought there jaws was going to hit the floor.  This is my first pregnancy.  and everyone in my family and my dhs family always makes fun of me because of how big I already am.  Got to love them.  Everyone always thinks that I am farther along then I really am.  But i have finally got use to it.  I just laugh about it now.  The way i see it is that it is my body and screw everyone elses opinions.  they arent the one that is pregnant I am.  atleast my baby will be healthy.  I know that she has plenty of room to move around.  You dont look like you have gained any weight any where else, so just let there stupid comments roll off your shoulder.   You are beautiful and that is all that matters.

dont worry what other people think. i think your belly is wicked. when i first found out i was pregnate i wanted it show from t he beginning now i just want it to disappear as i feel fat and fed up. i'm only about 32 weeks gone. some people are only jealous by how good you look so they will say things to hurt you. just keep your chin up, keep smiling and be proud to be big!!!!! it wont last forever anyway.

I've been feeling the same way! I'm just over 10 weeks and already feel like I look 20 weeks. Some days are worse than others, though because of bloating.

Are you eating a lot of salt? Are you drinking enough water? Are you constipated? These are all things that can make you look bigger than you actually are. I tend to eat more sodium than I should, I haven't been drinking 8 glasses of water each day, and I'm constipated a lot lately. I find that if I eat less salt, drink a lot of water and actually use the bathroom, I am not as big the next day! I swear, I had gained about 4 pounds, but after I did all of the above (and I used the bathroom twice in one day!! woohoo!) I actually dropped 2 pounds the next day.

As for people you'll more than likely NEVER see again, just tell them you're farther along than you really are. They'll never know the difference, and you won't have to hear their rude comments. I'd even make up the sex of the baby if they ask that, too. Just have a "date" in your mind of when your baby will be "due" so you don't give yourself away.

I still had a huge belly after I gave birth last time and someone asked when I was due, I just said "in a couple of months" and they told me good luck. No need in dragging out the ordeal! LOL

If it's people you see regularly, they should understand after you tell them it's your THIRD child and that you are just showing at lot earlier than usual.

I was the same way.  At 3 months you could already tell that I was pregnant.  I was already in maternity pants.  I did have a big baby though...9lbs 2 oz. so it was mostly baby and water weight.  I used to get the comment "you only have one in there"....I used to feel like such a whale.  But you know what, I had a beautiful big belly that I miss now.  Who cares what people think, some women are dying to get there belly and don't pop until they are 7 months.  Feel lucky.

Your belly is cute....Don't let what others say get to you!  It means that the baby is growing...which is what's supposed to happen!
I totally understand about how you feel though......I didn't start showing too early (it's my 1 st though) and people are still staying I barely look pregnant (almost 19 weeks) but at around 13 weeks my clothes quit fitting, yet I felt I looked like an idiot in maternity clothes, etc etc......Felt nasty overall!  But that feeling went away, and yours will too!  :o)
And really, it makes me feel worse when people say that I don't look pregnant...By this point, I WANT people to know!  Just no pleasing me I guess!  LOL!

I think your belly looks beautiful!

Remember this: To carry a baby is a beautiful thing - who gives a rats a$$ what other people think?  Will it really matter a year from now? Nope, so try not to worry about rude peoples comments.

Hey you look great!  Everyone is different.  I am not too sure how tall you are, but I am only 5 feet tall, 115lbs and I looked just like that at 13-15 weeks during my 1st pregnancy.  (Although I miscarried)  So, I think you look awesome!  :)

You look fine.  I've seen women who look bigger than you do at 16 weeks.  People are so mean sometimes.  Don't feel bad, you look pregnant not fat.  Hey you might even get big in the beginning and then stay that size for a while before you get any bigger.  I stayed the same size from 12 wks to 19 wks and I was in maternity clothes.  So, don't worry and you can always tell people that in a few months you will have a little miracle to show for it but unfortunately for them, there is no procedure for a personality transplant and that maybe they should try to be a little more sensitive in the future.

Try not to worry.  I know it's hard.  But this is your 3rd and the more you have the sooner you start to show with each one normally.  I'm sure there are exceptions out there, but that is the general rule of thumb.  I have 5 and with my last, I was in maternity clothes almost as soon as I found out I was pregnant and I was only 4 weeks when I found out.  LOL!!!  I hated that.  My jeans were really tight by the time I was 7 or 8 weeks.  Don't worry.  You look great and just remember what I said.  This is your 3rd.....

I say try not to worry about what other people say and enjoy your pregnancy and growing baby!  I think it's incredibly rude for people to comment on the size of a pregnant woman's belly.  As if we aren't self-conscious enough during pregnancy!  I hope others are more considerate in the future!  : )
