Also, I wouldn't know what to pack in my bag when I go to the hospital !! any ideas would help :P
even though yes I still have 9 weeks to go I want to make sure Im ready:)

Thank you! I'm pretty sure you can bring your laptop, if you have one, to listen to music. Or your phone or ipod with the speaker dock. I would check with your hospital just to be safe.

I thought that every room would have a shower too so I didn't bring any shoes...my room only had a toilet and sink as far as the bathroom goes. I had to wear my only flip flops I brought with me into the shower :( the worst was the fact that I had my son at 3:12pm on a Sunday and didn't get to shower until 7am the next morning (I felt so disgusting). The hospital staff was great and I loved my dr but the hospital itself could have been a little better lol my hubby got out of the military so we are now back in our hometown so I am going to be prepared for anything with this delivery (hospital bag wise)!!

I'm on my third baby and I'm going for a third all natural med free childbirth! :) this time I want to have my wee one in a birthing center with midwife and doula instead of doctor! :) I hated being in the hospital bed I think that was what made it so painful/uncomfortable because I couldn't get up when I pleased due to ivs and monitors.

I had an epidural with my first and it was so amazing, my hubby and I were able to enjoy the whole labor process without me screaming in pain or yelling at him (even though I told him I hated his guts 5 times before I got the epidural haha). I would like to try natural this time just bc I have a little better idea as to what to expect...but I will definitely get an epi if its too much.
For you hospital bag, not sure how ur hospital is but for me they have one shower on the recovery floor and the ladies have to take turns to use it so if its like that at ur hospital I would take shower shoes or old flip flops :)

I wanna try natural, and if it goes bad then I'll get the epidural. In my bag, so far I packed a robe, some underwear, slippers, travel sized shampoo, body wash, face scrub and lotion, her going home outfit, a 0-3 month outfit in case she's a chunker, newborn mittens, and socks. I've been so lazy that I haven't finished packing, but I really gotta get around to it! 12 days left lol, I recommend you start packing now.

Noo they don't get you a bag lol sorry I worded it wrong. I meant when you registered for the hospital it should have said somewhere in the paperwork what all the hospital provides

My birth plan method is to try natural first & see how my pain tolerance is. But if i can't take it, i'm asking for the epidural! & i also want to know what should i pack in my hospital bag, cause i'm a ftm. Joceey i have 9 weeks left just like you :)

I am getting an epidural and just listen to some music until they tell me it is time to push. When i packed myself i put a: robe, deodorant, soap, night clothes, lotion, go home clothes, socks house shoes, and a rag because hospital rags are rough. For the baby: a gown, mittens because the scratch their face, socks, cap, recieving blanket, towel, rag, and go home clothes and go home blanket.

My plan is to go without it unless I need it, so I signed the paperwork for it already just so its an option! As for the hospital bag, have you registered for one yet ? It should say somewhere in the paperwork what all the hospital provides(all I'm bringing is a couple outfits for baby, a lightweight blanket to block the sun from her eyes when we take her to the car, some pads for me, and some uber comfy going home clothes, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, toothpaste toothbrush, my brush and deodorant)

Epidural all the way for me.!!! Not gonna lie I'm so uncomfortable just now that I'm actually looking forward to it lol but there's a list online that will tell you everything you need for your hospital bag :) but I want a calm environment with like the sound of rain or the ocean playing and I just want my husband in the room because I think this will be a bonding experience that is very rare and as much as I would like my mom there for comfort I realized that my hubby is all I need and that makes him feel more like a man and a father :)
