Its suppose to soften the cervix to help you dilate. But is not meant to actually induce labor. You can take it orally or insert vaginally though insertion Is more effective. Suppose to work the same as semen. Ppl will give you mixed opinions, I'm just telling you why women use it. Most midwives recommend using it once you hit "term"
