I know a lot of people that had a tampon like medicated device inserted into the cervix and gel.
Then an IV drip to encourage contractions.
If ypur body is ready it might be very quick and intense. If not,it can take 48hrs or so to get going.
Thank you for all the information it helps a lot(:& I don't think I'm gonna make it to Tuesday
I was induced with both my kids and will be induced with this one Mon. At first its tolerable cramping but once you kick into active labor it hurts. But it's suppose to its labor not meditation. The good thing is once you hit 4 cm you can have an epidural, at least here you can. Sometimes the epidural can help your labor go faster because your muscles are relaxed helping the baby move further down. When you have contractions without medication most people's bodies tend to tense up which can actually prolong your labor. The good news is once baby comes after a few hours you forget about how intense the pain really was
I had to get induced at 40wks 1day. My child didn't want to come at all.
They did they IV thing or whatever first, and when they broke my water, it felt like a knife being shoved up my you know what. I bawled.
When I finally got epidural they did it while I was having contractions and honestly it was a pinch.
I can say I don't wanna get induced again because it was super painful but then again I'm scared for her to come while I'm at home.
I got induced with my first one and basically it's forcing ur body into labor for me it got real intense. But it went by quickly for me. They almost couldn't give me an epidural.
They will give you a medicine via IV to start contractions, at first they really aren't bad. My doctor also broke my water at the same time.
As labor progresses the contractions get more intense.
They do say that with inducing it can take 3 days to labor, but most people have the baby within a day.
