failing my glucose test

I'm currently 10 weeks and I took my glucose test last week because I explained to my doctor that I was worried about how I feel as If im getting so big quickly. He asked that I get tested since thyroid problems and being diabetic run in the family. Anyway I didn't not fast the morning of "because I didn't know I was going to be  Tested "and I had a smoothie King drink that morning and i bearly failed my test ): I go back next Wednesday so I'm hoping praying that I pass this time!! My question is do you think I failed because I had a smoothie high in sugar 3hrd prior? And did you fall your test the first time and pass your second test?

I failed my first test because I had a corn tortilla but my second year which I couldn't eat anything for 12 hours came back normal. Good luck

I was told to not eat or drink anything sugary before. My appointment was at 7:30 AM so I just didn't eat yet

Definitely understandable but if it does come back negative the second time I would definitely asked to be tested again later on in pregnancy! My OB explained that a change can happen in weeks for gestational diabetes! But before your next test, just try not to eat anything sugary beforehand (:

Because I explained to him that I feel as if I'm getting big fast, he said that can show a sign of being diabetic so he wanted to check me sooner than later.

Did you ask your doctor why they had you take it so early? Usually they wait until 22-28 weeks because it can develop later on in pregnancy. Also, if you ate anything high in sugar before hand it could definitely affect the results. I didn't have to fast for my test but I didn't eat anything with sugar so I didn't affect the results

Your smoothie was probably the cause, guess you'll see next time.
I made sure I fasted in fear of inaccurate results.

Well when I took my first test I was about 29 weeks and my nurse told me it didn't matter what and if I had anything before that as long as I didn't eat drink or throw up in one hour. Hopefully everything come out fine on your next test.
