family issues

Do any of you ladies have family that disagree on you having a baby? I'm 29 yrs old married and have a good paying job with my own apt but my family disapproves of me being pregnant just cus they hate my husband, I'm currently 22 weeks and still to this day my family don't ask how my pregnancy is going or nothing...how many of you that are in this situation can't wait to tell off the whole family after you have your baby? I've been so tempted to but I'm doing it for my baby and me and don't need to get upset right now

Hi there.  That is so strange under the circumstances you describe that they wouldn't be supportive or happy for you.  I'm sorry to hear that.

I'm sure it hurts you.  This is a great time in your life and they are acting so strange!  Is this their history or pattern? What could be causing this reaction??

I would try not to tell them off ever.  Here is why---  anger is so often just an expression of hurt.  That's what is really going on here.  Instead of telling them off which will further cause you to have family problems, try talking to them after the baby about how hurt you felt and disappointed because you wanted them to share in your joy.  THAT may cause things to start to heal which ultimately will make you happier and possibly then make them step up and be good family to your baby.

good luck honey

I don't have any issues with my family... but I agree with waiting to tell them off. As much as it must suck to not have their support, if you and your hubby are happy that's what matters.  And if they don't want to be in your baby's life after they are born to bad for them!
