fetal alcohol syndrome and heredity

Are the effects of fetal alcohol syndrome hereditary?

The actual syndrome is not hereditary. A woman has to drink during pregnancy for her child to get it.

On the other had, the reason why some babies don't get it when the mother drinks and why some do, now that could be caused by heredity, but it is not known for sure.

Just because a mother may had had fetal alcohol syndrome when she was born does NOT mean that her child will. She would have to drink while pregnant.

No,as long as your not drinking.then you be fine.only happens in women who drink alot during there pregnancy.
