It doesn't make you sick. The shot is not a live form, only the nasal form is. Get it. You and baby are at high risk. I get the flu shot every year, never get sick. There was no question about it, I just got it.

I got my flu shot and didn't get sick. There are two types to get, the shot or the nasal spray. The nasal spray is the live virus and they do not offer that to pregnant women. The shot is an attenuated virus and doesn't cause any harm. Now, if you don't get it and get the flu, you have a risk of losing your baby due to fever, throwing up everything and how long it lasts. What would you rather do?

The flu shot is a good idea. The flu shot makes your body create antibodies which are what fight off infections, if you end up getting the flu, your body will recognize it immediately and can help you not get as sick or run as high of a temperature which is bad for your baby. The flu shot will not make you "sick" though you make get more tired because your immune system is working overtime to create it's defense mechanism against the flu. (= I got it and I have yet to get sick. I didn't get sick after my shot, just felt kinda tired which is normal for me anyway haha I haven't gotten to sleep since my baby began to move...he's active mostly late at night. (= I would recommend getting it because not getting it could be worse for you and your baby if you do end up getting the flu! Fevers are bad and the flu is not something to mess around with....but do what you think is best for you and your baby (=

I got it because my dr pretty much told me I was getting but and didn't really give an option I told her I hadn't had one on over 10 years and I never get sick however my baby will be born in the cold and I just wanted to give some sort of protection against the flu. I don't like getting the shot because there's sooooooooooo many different strains of the flu and they can mutate person to person so it's really nonsense to me to get it it's not really protecting squat except pharmaceutical companies wallets. But hey maybe tgeres a chance u get one of the 3-4 strains they vaccinate for instead of the other 40 sum odd strains there will be lol

Any way for the record I got it, it was free and it didn't make me sick just my arm a little dot for a few days

I work at an urgent care and I'm 38 weeks pregnant. I don't recommend it. One being it's a live form of the virus but every year it's different it's what doctors think is the main strand that year. Even the doctors I work for told me not to get it Bc it could cause me to get the flu instead of protecting me. I've never had the flu and never got the shot.

I'm just worried about me getting extremely sick. Does it actually give you the flu or just cold like symptoms?

I got mine the other day, pros is your baby is less likely to get the flu when born :) which is a def pro for me cause my baby will be born while flu season is still goin on (not that imma get her out cept to see close family literaly a walk across the yard)
