gender guess?

i am 12 weeks and 5 days now and baby's heartbeat in 2 days were 156 and 148 this week. any prediction on whteher this heartbeat means a boy or girl? i am desperately hoping for a girl as i already have 2 boys. If anyone has some insight into my queston, plzzzzz respond!

hi ladies,

Regardless of my baby's heartbeat being around 150-156 all 3 times, we have found out that it is another boy after first 2 boys. so now  have started to believe heartbeat is not a good gender indicator after all. i have been diagnosed with total placenta previa and put on bed rest so im just hoping for a healthy full-term baby now!

Well I don't want to get ur hopes down,but my first was a girl and she had a really high heart beat so I thought that old waves tale was right and actually I was happy because this time the heart rate was much lower 130-140 so I was hoping for a boy. Plus the pregnancy was really different, but I went for my u/s and they told me it is a girl again :). Which kind a made me sad, because I wanted a boy, but oh well will be happy with a healthy baby regardless of gender...

Yeah those arent very accurate I am having a girl and her heart rate has always been between 130 and 150, girls are supposed to be faster (:

I wouldn't believe in the old wives tales at all. All of them were wrong when trying to determine what my little one was.  My little ones heart rate was 158 to 160 and they say that the high heart rates are a Girl. Sure enough its definitely a boy!

Heartrates are not a very good predictor….the heartrate doesn't drop down to the boy girl range until about the third trimester. My SIL found out she was having a boy and his heartrate was at 163 the day we found out.

My daughters was always 150... this one so far has went 164(10wks), 144(14wks), 134(18wks), 132(21wks), and now its back at 165(22wks) i dotn know the gender but how active the baby is at the time plays a big role in the heart rate...

When I was around 12 weeks my little bits heart rate was between 150 and 160. Now it's around 145 and I'm 29 weeks. My sister had a girl and her heart rate was about the same as mine. So it's not a very good indicator of gender. Keep us updated.

thanx...im so excited :) i have heard this is another old wives tale, but still its fun to guess until you find out.

i will know for sure on may 17...will keep you posted for sure. one reason that gives me real hope is that this pregnancy has been very diff from the other two when i had lots of nausea with my boys. so i'm hopeful :)

Both of my boys had low heart  beats so I am going to say GIRL!!

My sons and daughters heart rate fell into this range so not an accurate way to determine gender.
