I've heard that when the heart beat is fast, its a boy. The first time it was 170 and last week it was 159. I want a girl. Has anyone had a heartbeat that fast, and still had a girl????

One of my girls always had a heartrate over 150, this one I am carrying now is usually around 135.  HR will also depend on baby's activity when the rate is beingmonitored.  If baby is active HR will be higher than if baby is at rest.

honestly, it depends on the wives tale that you listen to. Some say a high heart rate is a sign of a girl but then a totally different webstie says that its a sign for a boy.  I found a site that actually proved there was no truth to the heart rate and the sex of the baby.  Only way to know for sure is when it comes out.  even an U/S can be wrong.  its not likely now because of they know what to look for but it can be.

My baby's heart rate is always 159+ I'm almost carrying low and I'm having a little boy. All those tales have been true for me. :) good luck!

The thing about all these myths is that they always have a 50-50 chance, if it were a bet, I'd put money on those odds. But my baby girl had a really high heartbeat at the beginning, in the second trimester it slowed down some.

The myth is if the heartbeat is fast, then its a girl. If its slower than its a boy. Although this is just an old wives tale. My baby's heart rate is in the 160's and its a girl! So sometimes the myth is right. The ultrasound tech who did my scan said she generally sees a higher heart rate in girls, but she doesn't really believe any science to it, as any healthy heart rate is between 120-180

My girl is around 137 right now and I'm carrying pretty low I'm 24 weeks. None of the old wives tales can be true same with the Chinese gender chart because that told me boy.. you will just have to wait til your doctor tells you what it is.. good luck

I don't think u can predict the gender on the heart rate, scan only, my friend did the ring over my stomach test n she said it was saying q girl and as it happens I am but that means nothing. They say your baby's heart rate should be between 120 and 160

These things are myths....if you carry in the front it is one gender, if not the other.  The only way to tell for sure what gender you are having is to have a sonogram where the genitalia is clear.  Even then, mistakes have been made.  You get what you get and trust me, you will be happy.

My second child I wanted a girl (first was a boy).  I never found out the gender of either of my children because I wanted the surprise at the end of the 9 months.  My second child was born and my husband said "you little girl has a penis."  Well, who cares.  I have two wonderful boys and I'm happy as can be.  You will be happy with any gender.

Take care.
