genetics question

So on my boyfriends side of the family they have a history of add and like tumors. Does that mean my baby is at risk? I also think my boyfriend has add but was never tested but his mom was also on drugs. Could that mean my baby could have add or tumors?

So my degree is in psychology. This requires a lot of classes that are medical based. I can tell you that there's no definitive research to support that add/adhd is genetic. Not saying it isn't, but the evidence isn't there yet. Add/adhd is also highly over diagnosed in my professional opinion, so even if it "runs in the family" I would not base any of that on your babies chances. As far as "tumors", there are many types of tumors so it's hard to say which are genetic and which are not from the limited information. Good luck with everything!

It's all possible. My his band has allot off cancer on his side. His grandmother,  grandfathers,  uncle and great aunt all passed from cancer on one side. It is a mix of genetics and lifestyle.

Anything is possible for any baby. You should ask your Dr what role genetics play in these things
