ges sac- 5weeks 2days no baby no heartbeart!!!

Ges sac is measuring 5weeks 2days no baby is there and no heartbeat! I'm freaking out mainly because the ultrasound tech said that on monday we will see if there still isn't a baby and I may have to have a dNc !!! She said this happens a lot babies are just not there!!!! Ummm but wierd thing, my ges sac keeps on growing so why does it keep growing if there is nothing to make it grow! I have talked to plenty of people and they don't even have a clue what this ultrasound tech is talking about!!! I am worried beyond belief tho!!! I don't think an ultrasound has a right to tell me what the heck is going on when she isn't an OB! Why can't I see the baby or the heartbeat? The ultrasound tech has me worried! Please help.

When I went for my first appointment I was 5 weeks exactly and they did an ultrasound and saw the sack but said you are still too early to see anything else. Try not to worry there isn't suppose to be anything to really see at that point that tech shouldn't have said anything

Thanks so much everyone! It makes me feel a lot better! I thought that at 5 wks there is nothing also because when I was pregnant with my son at the 5wk ultrasound we saw nothing but the sac but when that ultrasound tech said that I freaked out due to I am already high risk! I see the dr on monday and another ultrasound. Thanks again :)

at around 5 wks there is no baby to see, the fetal pole (baby) usually isnt visable until around the 6 wk mark, sometimes a heartbeat is seen then, sometimes not, if not your usually re-booked in too have another scan in 1-2 wks time, did they do a vaginal u/s or just an abdominal one?  If you go back and still only a sack is seen then there is a possibility of you having a blighted ovum, but even then you should be referred back for a repeat u/s for a dianosis to be made, google gestational u/s pictures 5 wks and you will be able to see what they look like, also a 6 wk one :)

If you are only 5w2d you wouldn't see anything. Its usually after 6 weeks you would see a heartbeat. At 5w3d all we saw was a sac 5w6d a sac and a baby but not heartbeat and at 6w1d a baby and a heartbeat. Try not to worry.
