had a seizure this morning... kinda worried.

So this morning, my husband got home from work and we laid down to go to sleep. A few minutes later, I startled awake and started shaking and convulsing uncontrollably, but I was still conscious. We called the ob and he said to just keep an eye out for anything else and call him if something changes. I've been sleeping a lot today and have had several "episodes" where my heart will suddenly start racing. I'm not sure if it's just low blood sugar or anxiety (I've been under a lot of stress). Should I just go to emergency care to make sure? Or should I try my ob again?

I went to the ob today and they are doing blood work for me. But they did an ultrasound, and I got to see my baby for the first time! And it looks like baby is doing great. Little heart was fluttering away. :)

No swelling, but I've had a slight headache. Though, it's still early in pregnancy (7 weeks) and I hear that's pretty normal due to the changes in hormones.

Ohhh got to love pregnancy brain!! Haha! I saw a car while driving that looked a lot like a friend of mine and kept honking at it. Lol my friend is a female and very short. It was a man driving it and he was huge and bald. Lol I felt like a good for sure! Also, I just had it again. Lol my mom was telling me about the remote start in her car and I was like wtheck is remote start?!? Lol. Yeah you should ask your doc about sugar pills!! They worked wonders for me! They also tasted really good. They were orange flavored. Seizures are a sign of preeclampsia. Do you have any other symptoms? Blurred vision, swollen face and limbs, headache?

My eyes did start rolling, but whenever my husband tried to get my attention, I was able to bring them back to him. No swelling though.

I was terrified of falling asleep too. I had to lay there for an hour before I could fall asleep. Even then I was only able to because I was so exhausted and I knew my husband was keeping watch.

Oh goodness! Pregnancy brain is the worst! A week ago I knocked on this poor elderly woman's door at 2 am because I thought it was my own apartment and got locked out while taking our dog for a walk! So embarrassing!

I used to keep candy in my purse just in case I got dizzy. But it's been a while since my hypoglycemia has been bad, mostly because I eat frequently. Unfortunately, that's not always possible during pregnancy. The sugar pills are a good idea! I should probably carry some with me from now on... :)

Lol, pregnancy brain ;) happens to the best of us! I would of reacted the same way! Scary! Before I was pregnant(year prior), I had really low blood sugar! It would just drop out of no where! I had to take sugar pills! I wasn't sure if it was my work schedule or how often I was eating. I was working 12 hour shifts pretty much daily for months on end and it was night shift. So I wasn't sleeping and wasn't eating properly. Lol but, enough with my story, I just hope they get it figured out for you! Seizures are scary enough  but being pregnant while having them tops it. First one you've ever had? Keep us updated :)

My husband gets home at about 8am some days. I was actually referring to yesterday morning (it was very late at night when I posted this). I'm waiting for him to come home this morning. Haha. And I cried my eyes out after I stopped seizing so much (I continued to shake for the next half hour), so I think I just kinda freaked out and then slept for a while to calm down. :)

I don't think it was passing out though. I typically start to feel very empty and uncoordinated and unable to breathe right before I pass out. I was totally fine when I was going to sleep at first.

I haven't been eating too well lately due to some pretty bad nausea, though. That kinda leads me to believe it was low blood sugar. It really is no fun being hypoglycemic and unable to eat. :p

So I am curious on a few things momma. Was your husband home with you while you were seizing? I am only asking because in your original post you said he was home and laying with you, then in your comment you said you were going to go to the doc as soon as your hubby got home. Sorry just confused. It sounds like a partial seizure. Were you conscious while seizing? If so, chances are it was a partial and not a grand mal seizure. Whatever type of seizure it is very important it gets figured out. If it were me I'd be soooo freaked so good job being calm! Also, back to the husband thing. I may just be confused because we may be in different time zones. It's 6:50am here lol  I wish your OB was a little more concerned though. I know my OB would be very concerned if it were me. Hope all is well Momma!! Best of wishes! Hopefully whatever is wrong is figured out!

Sometimes when passing out your body will jerk like that waking you up I don't know why my ex husband did this he had has hypoglycemia ! I thought it was a seizure as well when I seen him doing it but it turned out it was just his body reacting to passing out

Yeah, I've passed out several times before due to my hypoglycemia, but the seizure is a first. And being a biology graduate and premed student, I was kinda confused as to why my ob didn't want to see me immediately. I took the day off of work today and my husband wouldn't let me go anywhere anyway. Haha. But I guess we'll see what's going on in a few hours either way.

Please go to the er as soon as you can and do not drive yourself, seizures could be caused by a more serious underlying issue.
I'm very disappointed your ob was not more concerned.
I hope you feel better soon sweetie

If my ob won't see me, I will go to emergency care. And possibly will need to consider finding a new ob.

I'm going to try to go to my doc as soon as my hubby gets home. I think they would be willing to see me if I was really concerned still. I feel better now, but I need to know my baby is safe. I don't think much will change in the next couple hours though.
