It is normal to an extent because. Like sorenr said you pump more blood so yes your heart rate is going to pick up some. However they ended up inducing me with my first a week early because my heart rate was so high it's called tachycardia. Normal for adults is between 60 and 90 beats per minute. I have been being seen every two weeks since 20 weeks because I was already slightly tachycardic.I have been getting increasingly worse and will be talking to my doc Friday at my next appointment. If things are getting worse and you are getting this feeling frequently take a stopwatch or a clock with a minute hand and find your pulse with your index and middle fingers and time for 60 seconds if you get anything higher than 115 or so for any extended period of time I would go ahead and head to the er. Make sure you're sitting at rest for five minutes or so before testing it. Good luck
It happened to me too, I went to the hospital and they took an ECG reading and were happy with it although it showed the blips in my heart rhythm. I was told to go back if it lasted more than 30mins at a time, but it settled in a week or so. I think its to do with the increase in blood volume and takes our bodies a little time to get used to it. I think that was when I was 18/19wks or so, I'm now 26wks and had forgotten all about it till I saw your post! It's scary at the time but hopefully like me it will stop and be a distant memory for you soon :)
