You should get the ok with his doctor before introducing cows milk. Jazmines pediatrician told us that once she was a year old there was no need for her to have formula any more and she could go straight to regular, whole milk. We made a direct switch and everything was fine. Do talk to his doctor first though as his medical history, and family allergies could impact this decision (and is something none of us have knowledge of so we cant directly advise you on this).
You just give him whole milk, no dilution. I started that around 11 months with my daughters.
We started about 10.5 months mixing milk with his formula, only about 2oz at that time once he was 11months we did half and half and then closer to 12m we only put 2oz of formula in his bottle. If your son doesnt want the bottle any more stop giving it to him and see if he will use a slippig cup! use Whole milk, and just try just try half and half for now.....he is still doesnt want it just try some milk....
Hi,
My daughter is 10 1/2 months old, so I've been looking into this too. My doct said that I could start giving her a few bottles of whole milk at first. Up the amount slowly until she is drinking whole milk all of the time. My sister even mixed the whole milk and formula at first. My guess is to try both ways and see what he likes best. Be prepared for constipation....Call your baby's doctor and the nurses will let you know what they recommend. I talk to my daughter's nurses all of the time. :)
Hope this helps.
