help please
ok so i went to the doctor monday and i found the babys head is already in my pelvis and i am 80 precent effaced. this all happened in about a weeks time. im on bed rest. now im having contractions at least once a day for a couple hours. does anyone know how long i can go before i go into labor?
I'd personally call your doctor and tell them now about the contractions! I have preterm labor, had it with all 3 of my kids. With two of them I was dialted and fully effaced, one from 5 1/2 months on the other 6 or 7 months on. And I didn't get on bed rest till the last few weeks.
I'd ask for the lung development shots, one shot in the bum, and another other side of the bum 24 hours later! That way your baby has a better chance! But as long as your not dialted you should have some time! Don't get up unless you have to use the restroom, and maybe stick to baths, so your not standing. Hang in there and keep us posted!

thank you for your replies.... no i am not dialated. but the last 2 night i have had contractions off and on for hours at a time. im so happy i have an appointment soon.
I'm glad they put you on bedrest, but I'm sorry that you're going through this. Try not to worry and just relax. Think positive and hang in there! I will keep you in my prayers so that you won't go into labor yet :) Good luck!
I am so sorry to hear that you are going though this. Like Joy said bed rest will be the best thing for you, Are you dilated at all?
It is so hard to know. But being on bedrest is an excellent, excellent idea. Try to make it to at least 32 weeks or more if you can! The longer baby is in there, the better, of course. I think you may be able to make it to that long, hopefully longer.
