Omg I was totally unprepared with my lil girls bag.. okay if you want your baby in its own clothes pack atleast 4 outfits. I was in the hospital for 4 days cuz of csection and only had ONE outfit. I packed two newborn but she came out 4lb.. premmie barely fit! She's just now on NB and she's a month old.. bring some mittens, socks, your own wipes cuz the hospitals are awful. They're the dry cloth ones that you have to wet yourself. Most hospitals provide formula/bottles, diapers, alcohol swabs for umbilical cord, etc. So all you really gotta worry about is their clothes(again, if you want your lil one in their own clothes), a couple recieving blankets, mittens, and socks.
Not really. We have a back-up onesie packed, even if he's skinnier than we think we still have something.
@baby Dorgan aren't you scared 0-3 will be too big? I've heard of 8 lb babies being swallowed in newborn :/ 3-6 will be too big
I packed mine EARLY. But I've taken out a few things (I don't honestly see me reading a book or magazine) and by week 34 I pretty much had it ready.
Things I'm finding to be essential
-hair ties. When I'm in labor I want my hair OUT of my face.
-massage oil. This is mostly so when I'm like "owwww, my back hurts" my husband can make with the massagin'.
-I'm packing a secret horde of chocolate and a couple small bags of chips (even my H doesn't know about it). I won't be sharing, although I am bringing a roll of quarters so he can go to the vending machine.
-a birthing ball. I'm being induced tomorrow but I'm using it to try to dilate a bit more on my own-- hours and hours of labor es no bueno.
-If you're bringing a camera pack TWO sets of batteries. That way even if your replacement set is faulty for whatever reason, you have another.
-we packed an outfit for our baby in size 0-3 and another in 3-6 just in case the 0-3 doesn't fit. He's already 7# so there's no need for preemie size.
I packed comfy socks, a loose t shirt and pajama pants for myself, a few pairs of socks for the baby's feet, a dress so that when I'm ready to go home all I have to do is slip it over my head.
I also packed my own pads, I know the hospital supplies them but I'm incredibly picky about what pads I like.
A receiving blanket and hat for the baby,
And a stamping pad so I can take imprints of his hands and feet!
It sounds like a lot, but really, the bag I'm bringing is nowhere near full.
I was wondering this too. I'm 37+4 and have idea what to pack :/
I packed mine early.sense I was at high risk for premature labor. (Thank god I did) lol. But I had a lot of babie clothes. Easy stuff that unbuttons at the bottom and for me I packed lose stuff. Mostly my boyfriends shirts . And I also.packed some food. Cuz I'm.a picky eater
Bump... I have a question to add on to this as well - when did you actually start packing your bag?
