how can this be...

so i went to the dr thurs 30 they did a blood test for pregnancy and it said i was about 5 weeks how is that possible when i tested the 18th and it came back pregnant i thought you had to be like 4 weeks along before getting a pregnant resault its just really confusing any incite to this would be wonderfull

You wont be able to determine how far along you are based on hcg level, no clue why they would try to date the pregnancy that way. The span is too great for each timeframe so they should be able to give you a rough estimate as to how far along but not a precise measure. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until you get an ultrasound to get a better idea as to when you conceived and how far along you are. Good luck.

well thats the complicated part i misscarried march 7 tested positive march 18 have really no dates to go off of there doing a ultrasound may 27 so see how far i am cause they say thats what they really base the pregnancy off of but thats seems a long time to wait

Don't forget they count you as "pregnant" the first day of your LMP. So, you're not physically pregnant, but it counts as you being pregnant. When I got pregnant with my son I found out by hpt at three weeks.
