how long do real contractions last for?

and sometimes my contractions would subside.. so it was all crazy but i still had them close enough .. doctor said i was ready!

i was having contractions and i didnt even know. my stomach would just get hard and stay like that for like 30 seconds to a minute and then stop.. then again after 3-5 minutes sometimes ten it would come. then never really got so intensifying just stayed kinda the same.. my hubby took me to the hospital (i didnt want to cause i thought it was BH) and i was 3 cm dilated !! and having contractinos every ten minutes.. then 2-3 minutes apart.. and now i just had my bby (': so idk.. everyones contractions are different!

They normally last 30 seconds to a minute depending on how far you are.   They will get closer together and last longer as labor progresses.  Take a warm bath and drink some water, if they continue to get closer and longer your probably in labor, if they fade away then it was just braxton hicks.

My dr told me that braxton hick are usually one right after the other and dont last long but can b painfull. What are yours like
