how to cope with the heat ??

Good morning all

I'm in England and at the moment the weather is extremely hot,  my local area is actualy on a weather warning

I'm 15 weeks + pregnant and have a 9 month old baby aswell

I'm not coping in the heat,  I've got a fan in the bedroom at night as I'm literally roasting at night

Has anyone got any other tips to keep myself cool?

My 9 month old is just sleeping through the heat -wish I could lol xx

Yup I hear you there.    I;m in Scotland and it;s roasting up here too,   I know we shouldn't complain but what I would give for a bit of rain or even a nice breeze right now,   My son is 10w and he hates the heat.   He basically lives in a nappy or lies on his playmat naked with a towel under him in case he pees / poos x

I hide out in my basement with cool water or juice. I also eat a lot of ice cubes to stay cool. Wetting your hair is awesome. Also try to keep your feet cool. A cool head and feet keep your body cooler.

I'm from South Wales as well... Being 39+4 weeks in this weather is just cruel... My feet and ankles are swollen and putting them into cold water only helps for a short amount of time...
Spritzing water towards the fan and letting it to blow it back on you is a little help. What really works for me is getting my hair wet and while it's drying it keeps you somewhat cooler.

Ok I am in Australia, mostly lived in the north west and it can get hot!  Here's a few tips we used to use while camping in 48deg Celsius heat.... Wet a sheet so it's damp, use that as a cover instead of a blanket or dry sheet. Go to bed with wet hair, and wet your wrists. Spray/spritz bottles are great put a touch of lavender oil in water, fill the bottle and keep it in the fridge, spritz your face when ever you need to. Put face cloths in a container of water with a lid, leave them in the fridge use when icy cold to wipe the back of your neck and lay across your forehead. Sit with your feet in a bucket of ice water. Have a cool shower right before bed, so your cool! And wear minimal clothing as much as possible!
Hope these tips help, we use them all the time. Oh also keep your house closed, curtains drawn doors shut as much as you can during the day to keep the warmth out.
