if there's no cardiac activity detected in transvaginal ultrasound at 8weeks
I had my 1st tvs on my 5th week gestational age and only gestational sac and yolk sac were seen no embryo yet. After 2 weeks I went for my 2nd tvs at 7wk 6days gestational age and I saw my baby with CRL of 1.52cm but no cardiac activity detected. This is my first pregnancy and I'm so scared when the ultrasound report comment : within the well decidualized gestational sac is a yolk sac and an embryo without cardiac activity. The ultrasound impression stated : intrauterine embryonic demise 7weeks and 6 days AOG by CRL.
I did not feel any unusual symptoms of miscarriage such as cramping, abdominal pain and bleeding. Is there still hope that my baby is still alive ? I went for a 2nd opinion and was advised to repeat tvs after 2 weeks which is on Feb 28.
How come my other pregnant friends heard their baby's heartbeat at 10 or 12 weeks ? pls advise
i wholly agree with you getting a second opinion and think a scan in 2 weeks is a great idea. most heartbeats are detectable by 8 weeks- BUT NOT ALL. i remember a lady on here and her baby's heartbeat wasn't detected till 9 weeks. fingers crossed for you.
