When babies are born are they automatically put on the insurance?

Yes they should in the hispital there has to be a person coming in and getting everything ready

Some states medicaid automatically enrolls them, but not everywhere. If you have private insurance you have to put baby in the policy but baby is covered under you for the first 30 days (unless you are on your parents insurance). I'd start the process of enrolling as soon as baby is born though because some companies can take weeks to get everything finalized.

I just got out of social services and they said he would automatically b put on medicaid. I live n nc.

Yes. You have to officially add them within 30 days of birth but as long as you do that they are covered.

I had to go get medicaid.  He wasn't automatically put on.
