I'm 36+1 and since yesterday have been having a lot of pain and pressure in my vaginal area I have been experiencing some contractions but not any where being close together.. I'm just wondering is it normal for me be in this much pain? I have been trying to walk more, since I know longer get much exercise since I am no longer working.. would I be able to feel if I have dialated any? This is my first pregnancy so I dont know if the pain and pressure is normal.

i went to my doc yesterday experiencing the same problems and this is nrml, at the weeks you r at, im 35wks  and mine comes as if its a shock in my vg and then contractions apparently the baby is starting to move down if not alrdy engaged with your cervix, as long as their is no leaking tht isnt urine of course lol. im gttn the lil embarassing moments when i laugh to loud speak too loud or cough lol and yes all this pain is normal i know it sounds crazy. Good luck to you and the few days you have left. :)

I just can't talk myself into taking my leave yet. I have a few personal bills that my bf will be helping pay while I'm on leave. I just worry and want to have a full leave. I'm fortunate to get 60% of my pay but its not enough. My mom is coming in town on my due date, may 31st... I'm thankful that she will be here all summer. Work has helped me to continue being active instead I would be on the couch non stop!! I'm already lazy before work so I couldn't picture it all day!!

Thanks ladies, these days its hard for me to reach around this belly for anything!! I have weekly appointments so I will bring it up with my doc this week, she should be checking to see if I have dialated any so ill let her do that  but I'm just thinking this is good pain, this means its almost time to meet my little princess!! I just want to keep walking and preparing since it is my first baby its just sometimes it feels impossible with these Sharp pains and my doc say the sane thing the pain is normal , I'm sorry that you have to work so far into your pregnancy between swelling and backpain I stopped working at 33 weeks, and that is not maternity leave rather just leave of absense, I wish the best of luck to both of you ladies!

Unless you can reach around your belly and check your cervix...there really is no way to tell if your dialated... :/. If you've been having a lot of pressure and pain in the ol va-jj chances are your atleast starting to efface :) Your getting very close!!! Good Luck!!

I have the exact same feeling plus horrible nerve pains. My doc just looks at me and says its normal. All pain is normal to him. I'm still working so I'm constantly on the move. I just wish my doc would help me with my pain or something!!!
