is it reliable?

I am currently 36weeks pregnant and have been to my midwife this afternoon, she measured my bump and said it measures at 41cm which she said it should be only 36cm because 36weeks should=36cm, Does this mean i could be 41 weeks or near to there? Any answers will be much appreciated x

Fundal height is rarely accurate at any stage of pregnancy. I went into labour at 39 weeks and even then I was still measuring several weeks behind. There are dozens of factors that can influence it and cause it to be off.

i measured 28 at 24 wks.  I remember him saying that it almost never happens that some one is exactly the measurement.   As long as baby was growing he said it was fine.

Fundal height is extremely unreliable..when i was 26 weeks i was measuring 32 cm, at 28 weeks i was measuring 34cm, at 31 weeks i was measuring 37 cm. it could be the way the baby is laying and that could  be the reason you are measuring bigger..nothing to worry about

fundal height is not reliable after about 34 weeks.  my dr says they just measure you every week to make sure you're growing properly.
