itchy skin

I was up most of the night scratching mostly my feet and hands. It has gotten so bad I can't hardly sleep. Is this something I should be concerned about or anther lovely pregnancy symptom? I have tried lotions and creams with no results and I'm 35 weeks...

Well I hope you don't get it again!  I hope nobody gets it lol! Its horrible.  I felt alone too not one nurse even knew what it was or ever heard of it I had to explain what it was everytime a new nurse looked at my chart. Its so rare and go figure I got it lol. I even have a scar still on my foot from when I itched so bad one time in my sleep to the point where I broke skin and bled. People should know more about this incase they have it and people don't understand and just tell them its pregnancy itch. My own ob didn't think I had it at first I
Had to ask the maternal fetal medicine Dr for help

Sry didn't realize the person above mentioned same thing. But yeah like the above poster said its mainly hands and feet but for me it was everywhere just worse on my hands and feet..it was so bad I even cried a few nights I couldn't sleep from it. The actual itch is from bile rising in your blood and leaving your body (something like that can't remember exactly wat Dr said lol)  my Dr told me I'm at a high risk for having it in future pregnancies since I've already had it once . But go to drs don't suffer I know how you feel!  Lol& update us !

Im not a dr but im 98% sure u have cholestasis. I had the same thing its a very rare pregnancy condition more common towards the end of pregnancys but if happens in early pregnancy can be dangerous. The only cure is delivery. They induced me at 38 weeks because of this. Everyone kept telling me it was allergies or pregnancy itch and i was soo fed up and exhausted (because i couldnt sleep) i researched and found info about this and my mom n bf thought i was google crazy lol. then at maternal fetal medicine the dr took one look at me and sed i had cholestasis. (I also had scabs and a cpl little rashes from itching SO hard) its so rare not one nurse knew what it was. Two days after delivery i was no longer itching. Research it and definitley GO TO YOUR DR. And mention cholestatis. My ob said i didnt have it n i was suffering thank god the maternal fetal medinicine dr found out

I had that wiv my 1st 2. Mainly hands and feet. I had 2 have a liver function test and it came bk that i had OC. A uncommon pregnancy related problem. Not sayin u have it at all but they r the main symptoms. Both my boys were born healthy, im hi risk of gettin again wiv this baby. Nothin 2 worry about tho, it goes once u have baby.
