Have you figured out what caused this?
I am a 36yo female that has been dealing with this since I was about 24.
Doctors think i'm nuts and my bf is just like ok your crazy!
I told him it's so bad I want to cut my feet off!
It's mostly my feet but, sometimes my hands and fingers.
I don't have to be sleeping it starts within a hour of laying down trying to wind down. It has woke me from a dead sleep.
The itch is so deep scratching doesn't stop it.
Skin always looks normal.
Happens 3-5 nights a week.
I do have a history of depression and bi polar but, it happens weather i'm happy or not.
My back used to itch too as soon as I laid down to unwind but, that's seemed to have slowed down.
My theory for myself is a underlying auto immune disease but, who knows.
Could be a nerve disorder but, it's driving me INSANE and has been for many many years!

If anyone has anything please let me know.

There is absolutely NO pain just a deep god awful itch that last 1-3 hours *CRIES*

So, for you, this is unrelated to pregnancy right?  I had pregnancy itch on my hands.  Drove me insane.  Years later, I got the dreaded foot itch.  It was just one foot for me.  It was maddening.  I tried many things.  I used athlete's foot spray, Cortaid, etc.  I found that if I kept the foot moisturized, it helped.  but if my foot got too hot (like when sleeping), the itch would start and wake me up.  Fungus is what I figured.  I never had it professionally treated and it has mostly gone away.  But my skin on the side of my foot is noticeably thicker and can scale.  (lovely).  But the itch has not really been there for a year or so.

But for other itches, I also found that dry skin has caused it and once it starts, watch out.  I'm miserable.  I practically took the skin of my own back trying to itch it!  I heard on a radio program by a dermatologist to try Aveeno Eczema Balm.  It's really thick but I put that one and after a few days, I swear the itch stops.  It's a bit pricy, about 16 plus dollars at places like Walgreens or CVS. But I use it pretty regularly especially during winter.

And the brain is interesting.  If you see someone itching or people start to talk about itching or in your case, you think about itching . . . you WILL get an itch.

You are not crazy.  Itch is itch and I'm sorry you are dealing with it.  good luck

My legs itch... but I can't remember if anything else does... try to stay hydrated and keep lotion on your hands and feet if they start to get dry. But..... if your hands and feet are sweaty and itch.. it could be athlete foot.. and I would just talk to my doctor.. also.. I hear.. if your palms are itchy.. u may be coming into some money.. Lol
