You spill ketones into your urine for several reasons. Diabetics tend to spill ketones when they are having high blood sugars, people who do Atkins (or other super low carb diets) spill ketones because their body has converted to anaerobic metabolism. You will also spill ketones if you are dehydrated or suffering from malnutrition.

It's either a sign of dehydration or high blood glucose. Your body creates ketones when you don't have enough insulin to have sugar cross the cell walls. Pregnant women are at risk because they produce at hormone during pregnancy that effects insulin levels.

No ketones don't cause diabetes. The stress on your pancreas causes diabetes. But there are 3types of diabetes. Type 1 is mostly genetic. Type two is from being over weight. And gestational is during pregnancy

I was hospitalized when not prego.
Its horrible.
They where trying to fight it so it wouldnt reach my blood. Luckily it was fought.
Lots of water.
Try not to eat salty things.
Salt is mostly the cause of it.

Ketones are bad for both mom and baby. I can't exactly explain what they are but if I had high ketones I could end up hospitalized because of being a type 1diabetic. Drink lots and lots of water mama
