lol dont feel bad or selfish cause you want him out :) youve waited past his due date, your not asking him to come early... its understandable! you just want to meet the cute little kicker youve been feeling for the last months! Im hoping to hear some good news soon!! :) and cant wait to see some cute baby pics!

Like Lesley said, it's pretty common to go a week or so over your due date.

I remember when I was pregnant, I just wanted him out too. I was 9 days overdue, and by the time that day came, I was soooooo ready to have him out.

Just need to have patience. The time will come

The pinneapple juice has to be straight from the pinneappke & like 2-3 pinneapples a day. I tried everything with my little girl & had her on my due date by having sex then going to Walmart walking every single aisle & then going home & eating pizza (tabasco sauce)

LOL i think you guys maybe took my comment the wrong way... i didnt elect a C section... my daughter was not EVER gonna come out... i was induced (cervadil).... went through that for 12 hours over night with every STRONG contraction pushing her 95 percentile head on my spine before i got to pain relief from the epideral... then  later they broke my water(was green...meconium) as labor had stopped, , then they tried pictocin to get labor going and gave up after a total of 26 hours later... then i went for a Csection to find that my daughter was stuck, face up and head arched back, and was not ever going to drop to come out vaginally.... i had a 9lb 2 oz baby girl with like i said a really big head lol it was just how it had to go and other than the 12 hours with no pain relief i went with the flo, never got stressed, and accepted every bump as they came.... my c section was awesome! i had a wonderful group of ladies in the OR... my daughter went to the NICU right away as her lungs were full of crap and meconium but i knew that she was being looked after... i cant say i enjoyed the rest of my stay but i can honestly say my C section never ever hurt... i felt great in that sense...

So no i wasnt saying that i just decided to go for a c section, i asked if she would be induced at 10 days ( i got bumped to the 11th) cause thats what usually happens here... so i was just checking if there was a cut off point to how far they let you go....

I do think a massage is an awesome idea!! i think you should definitly go for it!  Also I read most first time moms average 8 days over... so heres hoping its no later than that :) Good luck and i hope to hear some good news really soon!! Hang in there!

Well I'm already over due!! I thought I was freaking out before, I can't even sleep now! Lol I will be 41weeks on Sunday....I got a massage gift certificate for my baby shower and I've been saving it, seems like now might be the perfect time to use it! Thanks everyone :)

Well, not sureif you've went in yet, but he'll be here when it's time. I had to learn patience when I was pregnant as not to stress out at that 6 months point, lol. There is usually a two week margin before and after your due date when the baby can come;-)

Most massage therapists will know the points to push in your feet they study this when doing their courses, you really should go give it a try and get a full massage to go as well, there is nothing quite so nice as haqving a massage when your over-due, I did when I was 4 days over abd my massuse did my points and I nearly hit the roof ha! thank goodness he waited til the massage itself was over so I was nice and relaxed :) I then went and did abit of shopping, feeling like I was about to pop, went home and 2 hrs later literatly did pop lol as my waters burst and away we went, so yes I would def reccomend it, at the very least you have treated yourself before bub has arrived. If you cant find a masuse, go to a reflexology place and they will do the same bar the massage :)

Most insurance companies won't cover elective cesareans either. If you've previously had one, they will cover a repeat. C sections take so long to recover from and it's a major abdominal surgery.

My midwife suggested I take Evening Primrose Oil to help ripen my cervix. I broke a capsule open and rubbed it on my belly every night. It made me have some pretty strong contractions and I was in labor by the third night. But, I had also just come off of bedrest. The truth is, short of induction...nothing is going to get your baby out until it's ready.

Didn't read through all the comments, but did see one that stuck out. I've had a c-section, the recovery isn't fun. I had a vaginal birth after, and it was SO much better. I don't know of a single dr that would do a c-section that was NOT medically necessary, BUT that doesn't mean there isn't someone out there that would. I personally hope that you don't opt for it unless you HAVE to.  40 weeks isn't a rule, more like a guideline...37 weeks is term, so really it's ok to have the baby any time after that...but that doesn't mean you should for any reason other than having to. I'm not trying to be mean or anything like that, I know it stinks being at the end and wanting to hold you baby and all that, but the longer baby bakes the better. NOTHING you do right now will cause you to go into labor, you'll go into labor when baby and your body are ready. You can look up all the fun, weird, yucky ways to induce labor and I can tell you now...you can do every single one and not go into labor. At your next appointment, if they haven't already you should ask about induction and when your dr does it if baby hasn't come yet. Some drs will wait until you're 2 weeks over due. I hope baby comes soon!

i used castor oil for my daughter it worked good i also had my membranes stripped it kinda hurts a little but if it gets labor going is worth it.. also raspberry leaf tea can cause uterine contractions and nipple stimulation can create pitocin and help as well :)

The pineapple story is true in a sense but you'd need to eat the equivalentof about 8 pineapples & even then it might not work! Pineapple juice usually is full of sugar so prob not a good idea. Raspberry leaf tea is good & also nipple stimulation! It makes ur uterus contract so cud get things going! Good luck & fingers crossed for u

I would say you want to be careful and just go for the natural thing. Castrol oil just makes you have BM and gets you dehydrated so I say its not worth it. Walk, do mini squats, small hills, just get your body moving. The sex thing is suppose to work, I tried it, the sperm is suppose to do something to the cervix I think? I was 9 days early because my water broke, but I was walking that entire weekend, but I had to have pitocine to get real labor going. I know it is not fun at all to wait but know he will get here and this will all seem like a weird dream later.

Oh man! I don't know if I could make it 12 days over!! But at my next appt ill be 8 days so pretty close! Lol do all massage therapists know the reflexology(sp?) Or is there someone in particular? And as for induction it really depends on the Dr and the baby, some drs will induce just to have it scheduled and some won't do it at all unless the baby is not coming, mine was willing to do it anytime after my due date

I would be careful about the castor oil... when it works it works when it doesnt it seems to only lead to the toilet... walking, sex, definitely get your membranes stripped... i cant say i found anything that worked for me but i would stay focused on the healthiest options :) here they do inductions at 10 days over... is it about the same there? i said that they should just automatically set your due date 10 days past as it ***** seeing your due date come and go... i feel for ya tho and cant wait to hear when this little one decides to show :) my daughter wasnt coming willingly and was a c section at 12 days over :) so i know all about the waiting game!

I'd stay away from the castor oil myself, get your reflexology points done and if your bubs ready to come that will work as it stimulates your uterus into contracting, thats why you shouldnt have them done until you due, good luck

I'll definitely ask him about the stripping of the membranes cause Id like to go into labor naturally but it just feels like he's never coming out! I'm scared to try castor oil because I've read it can make the baby pass his meconium and he could aspirate it? And yes hell of a woman indeed, wow!! I really hope if I do need to get induced it works the first time, wow anything but natural seems like a lot can go wrong
