may be OT- red bumps on shin's from BC or Pregnacy

about 4 years ago I got this red bump on my right shin, at first I thought it was a bruise but it grew and it really really hurt. At 1 point my hubby took me to emerg as I literally could not walk it hurt so bad. after 4 Drs and the 3rd finally sending me to a dermatologist I was told it was from the birth control pill. He explained the only way to get rid of it was to quit any hormonal birth control ( the pill, shot, patch or ring) I could take pain meds but without stopping the hormonal birth control it would not go away and it would get worse and even go to the left shin. Anyways I quit the pill and it took a full year to go away completely. I started charted for birth control and have ever since. twice used it to get prego.....
Anyways...I got that red bump back with my 1st pregnancy, it wasnt in the same spot but in the right leg. My OB had never really heard of it and didnt really know what to do, it was obviously from hormones. It ended up going away on its own, but man it hurt!!
Now I have it again ( I am 16 weeks) on the left shin and boy it hurts. After all that my question is has anyone else ever had this from bc or pregnancy? if so do you have any idea what hormone causes it and if there is anything I can do to help it? Also wondering if its a female hormone, my 1st was a girl and wondering now if this 1 may be as well!?

I have had the most horrible red itchy bumps in pregnancy. It's like a rash that is so itchy it hurts. It's not PUPP which is a rash that can come in pregnancy. I have used benadryl and warm Epsom salt baths as my OB has recommended. I also can put ice on it which helps. I feel your pain and joke that I am allergic to pregnancy. I'm not sure which hormones I bet progesterone or estrogen which are found in large amounts in pregnancy and of course are in birth control pills (not positive on progesterone in bc pills). Sorry I can't be of more help but yes I feel your pain and you are not alone in this.
