Yes my dr said taking it with milk is not best the milk actually affects the viyamins h are digesting. She told me that when taking ur pill drink water then when it comes to milk you can drink it when ever she said to stick with fat free or skim if u drink alot due to addjng additional weight u dont need and will have post pregnancy.

Prenatal vitamins should have folic acid already in them. The folic acid is very important to prevent birth defects, more specifically neural tube defects like anencephaly or spina bifida. If you are taking a regular multivitamin such as "one a day women's" or other daily multivitamins not intended for pregnancy, you would need to take folate separately because they don't typically contain it. Look at your bottle and see what it contains - if it is a prescription and it doesn't say, you should ask your doctor just for peace of mind. By the way, Folic acid is also referred to as folate and vitamin b-9.
Also, if you start to feel like your prenatal is making you nauseous, it is most likely because of high iron content in them. Many women stop taking the vitamins because of this. If this happens, it is recommended that you take a regular multivitamin instead because they contain less or no iron and take it with a separate folate vitamin. I hope this information has been helpful to you. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
