Are depression medications okay to take while pregnant and breastfeeding? I am 36 weeks and my babys father has just pushed me to the edge where I physically ache because Im depressed. I don't want to go through post partum depression but I also don't want to harm my baby..anybody here on depression medications?
It depends on which medication, there are some that are safe. Ive been having issues with it, because ive already taken all the ones that are safe at one point and there are very few that are safe. My issue was i was diagnosed when i was 7, and the meds that are safe in pregnancy are also the first ones they give to kids :/ talk to your dr about it and they will get you the help and medication you need that will also be safe
