I've had cramping since the beginning of my pregnancy and I'm 31 weeks today. I know that later it gets more intense due to possible Braxton hicks or your baby gaining so much weight in such a short period resulting in your uterus growing rapidly. I figure right now my baby weighs 3-4 lbs and has to get between 7-9 in 2 more months. That's a lot of growing in a short period of time. As long as baby is active and no blood or extreme pain, if it were me, and it has been, I wouldn't worry too much. Remember a professional opinion is a phone call away.
I'm 14 weeks and still cramp
i suppose i should have said that too, thanks gastro mommy.
i am currently 9 weeks pregnant and as i type, cramping. its nothing major, just a little pressure. i think of it as little on saying 'hey you! what are you doing up there, whatever it is, slow down already, i need a long nap!" : )
I cramped in the beginning too :)
hi there,
hopeingforaboy makes a very good point. however, you said light cramping and no spotting. if i were you i wouldn't freak out just yet and consider er yet. honestly your uterus is growing and stretching and making room for little one. you're building a little home for baby and that requires some stretching. so you will absolutely experience some cramping during pregnancy. light cramping is normal, especially after sex. if its extreme pain and you are doubled over in pain then yes, it is worth going to the er, especially when some bleeding is happening.
also consider if it is round ligament pain from rolling over too quickly or getting up too fast. i have certainly been experiencing that lately.
perhaps investing in a pregnancy book will help as a reference when you have concerns also. this site is great but sometimes you may have questions you don't want to wait for answers on, or might be a little shy to ask.
in case you are curious about experience, i've had two miscarriages. i spotted for 5 days before any cramps started.
i hope everything is fine and your cramps ease up for you. if they get really bad don't be afraid to go to the er.
Best bet is to go to the er... any time you think something is wrong... it is safer to just go in and get checked... none of us are doctors, granted some of us have experienced this... however no one can see you or know really whats going on... please go to the er even if someone tells you yes its a miscarriage or no its not! Better to be safe then sorry
No I've had lots to drink today I shouldn't be dehydrated
Have you had much to drink today? I had a problem similar to this with my first pregnancy, went to the hospital and found out I was dehydrated
