missed miscarriage

Hello. I was 8 wks pregnant and went for my first US to confirm. The US showed a sac but no heartbeat. i took Cytotec to hopefully induce the miscarriage but unfortuntately everything did not come out so I needed a D&C.  I am completely sad and paranoid about everything. Is it common to have infertility or subsequent miscarriages after a d& C? Is scarring common after a D&C? Should I be worried?  How would i know if there was aproblem? thanks for any help you can offer.

I've had two miscarriages. The first was naturally and the second was a D&C this past July. I had another D&C during a hysteroscopy in August. I got pregnant (without trying!) a month later. And now I'm 19 weeks pregnant with a little boy! I would choose the D&C over naturally anyday. It took a week of waiting for it to happen and I felt like I couldn't move on. I bled longer also. With the D&C, I didn't have to wait and I bled lighter and less. I dont' know anyone who has had complications from a D&C either.

I had a D&C on 12/10 for a missed miscarriage of twins.....was also 8 1/2-9 weeks along.  They did not offer me meds to bring the miscarriage on, as they said there was a higher risk for hemmorhage with twins.....I had a D&C...and honestly, as terrbile as it is, mentally, I think that it's better for your body...That way you can be sure that your uterus is all cleaned out.....From what my Doc told me, there's ALWAYS a 1 in 4 change of miscarriage, and that a D&C does not increase the risk.....I'm very sorry that you had to go thru this......Best wishes.

Its all soooooo sad, until now I haven't forgotten and some times would count how old my baby would have been! its harder i guess when you don't have any kids.... I really hope sometimes soon we would have our own baby.... I hope everything goes well for next pregnancy.... pray for me please .... I panic alot already... I pray for you all guys and its great to meet others whom experienced the same pain.... I guess it helps meeting people experiences the same pain especially if they have had a healthy baby after that... it gives me so much hope....

I am so sorry. Every part of m/c is hard. I thought I was feeling better (3 weeks later). I went to the doctor to review the results from the testing done on the fetus after my d and c and started crying at the sight of the envelope that held the information. Inside I was thinking it was going to be my last sight of my baby. However, the testing was inconclusive and she said it was chomosomal but no definite reason. Anyway, I try to think of the baby I will one day have and let that comfort me when I feel sad.

I know exactly how you feel.... I went to the ER for bleeding, thinking I was pregnant and my hpt's were negative.. well the hospital test showed posotive but they told me I was miscarrying..I am still in the process of passing my child... It's very hard because everytime I go pee it just...... *crying* It's hard to see pieces of what would have been your child coming out of you..... (SORRY FOR TMI ) ... It's hard too.. My poor husband doesn't know what to say, he's afraid still that it will be the wrong thing....... Now he has decided to crack jokes......... If you need to talk, you know where to find me ... It helps.

thanks honey..... hope all goes well for you... I remember when I went to do the D&C I had to sign some paper work which mentioned that there is a small risk of tearing the womb during th operation but the chances were very low.... Not sure whether they would ask you to sign the same in your country... Good luck and take care....

Xmas sorry for your loss, i have had a missed miscarriage in 2006, and had to do the D&C,,,,, I haven't tried for another baby yet as had some health issues which needed to sort out before trying again... so I am hoping that it has not had any negative impact on getting pregnant again.... my periods were messed up after the d&c and just recently they have improved but other than that all appears to be normal.... good luck and if you need to have it then don't hesitate before catching an infection which could then effect your fertility..... good luck and take care....
