mucus plug

hi all i just went to my DR appt to day iam 31 week 6 days preg..the DR told me i was 1 and a half cm open and i did lose my plug haves anyone go throw this and went to 40 weeks please help

Yes, I lost mine early with my first too, I was 2-3 cm dilated for at least 1-2 months before I delivered, and I was 2 weeks late!

Many women lose their plugs and dialate slightly and go weeks before anything else happens.  I know a girl who was pregnant same time i was last time.  She lost her plug and was 3 cm at 32 weeks and ended up being induced at 40 weeks becuase she wasn't making anymore progress.

yes! I was dilated 1cm from 30-36 wks, progressed to 2.5cm at 38, then back to 1cm until I delivered at EXACTLY 40wks. I lost my mucus plug somewhere in the 9th month but i dont remember where....plenty of women lose it a month or two before delivery :). as long as your doctor didn't indicate that it looked like you were going into preterm labor i wouldn't worry!
