my gut is telling me NO :(

My mom is pressuring me to get my flu shot, but my gut is screaming at me not to get it done. I've done research on getting it while pregnant, and I can't find anything to prove that it's harmful, and even my OB recommended it but everything in me is telling me not to get it. Who has/hasn't gotten it, and why?

I am not getting the flu shot either...it contains a form of mercury which I would think could affect the growing of a fetus.  I feel theres a chance a baby could get autsim which many children have now a days.

You should also research the risks for your baby associated with not getting either of the aforementioned vaccines

I just couldn't live with myself if something happened. I read some stories online on the way to get the flu shot about women who miscarried/had stillborns just a few hours after getting it, but they didn't know if that was directly related to getting the flu shot, but still, it's a horrible coincidence. So that was really just affirmation to trust my gut and not get it done. I've never really had such a strong gut feeling about anything so I feel like I did the right thing.

I did not get the flu shot cuz i feel as if my body will protect itself. But i  do reccomend if you do not get it, ask your dr how to medically wash ur hands & make sure you wash them often esp if u touch a shopping cart or something. Good luck :)

I wouldn't get it if you're uncomfortable with it. You can always decide later to get one if you want but you can never take it back once you do.  I've never gotten one in my life and then I allowed myself to be pressured into getting one by my OB. I really regretted it immediately. Nothing bad happened and my baby is still in good health but I really believe that nothing bad would have happened if I hadnt gotten it. It's always best to listen to your body...that includes your gut instincts too.

I've never had the flu shot and I dint intend on starting now. I was raised that if it ain't broken, don't fix it. I told my ob at my first appt that I will not get it and if she tries to pressure me, I'll find a new doctor. She hasn't brought it up since.

I have a question. I got the flu shot in middle school several years ago, would that count? Or is it like a yearly thing?

I had it done and never got sick. It helps protect your baby as well. It does not make you sick...i even checked the cdc website before i got mine done, as well as the pertussis shot. You will be fine.

Searra I think she is referring to the flu shot. That she hasn't gotten her little girl vaccinated for it.

Missymay34 how are your kids going to go to school if there not vaccinated? I personally didnt want to vacinate my children either but they told me they werent going to be able to attend if I didnt. So I had to. My grandparents are in there 80's and never been vaccined and ive never see older people as healthy as them.

My OB pressures me to get it. I have never gotten it my whole life. Every time I go in she tries a different approach she uses my asthma to scare me, and it never works lol I have never gotten the flu. I won't say its not possible but I am not worried about it. I just tell her no all the time. Its really your decision.
