my right arm keeps falling asleep at night!!

yes, its another crazy question from sunkissed lol-
ok so for the past i dunno month or so...a long time...my right arm has been falling asleep at night, im not squishing it or laying funny it just falls asleep no matter how its laying...and it wakes me up all the time with the tingly pain!! its so annoying! and its hard to wake it up...and its pretty pointless to do so because after i wake it up it falls back asleep pretty quickly! why is this happening? it never happened before i got pregnant and how the heck do i make it stop??? btw im only 13 weeks pregnant....i might see this happening to someone in like their 30th weeks because the baby could be pushing on nerves...but my baby is like the size of a lime so what the heck could it be pushing on??? any advise is greatly appreciated i am HIGHLY annoyed! should i call my o.b?

I had the same thing while pregnant with my daughter. She spent most of her 9 months stretched out, and still tried to do the same thing even in the third trimester, which made for some really uncomfortable moments. Your baby may just be in a position that's pushing on a nerve, even at this early stage....My arm fell asleep all the time, right from the beginning. (actually been happening again all week and i'm TTC so I'm hoping it's a good sign :D ). if your doctor won't check you, go to an urgent care and tell them about your potential complication with the port. They'll have to check (most likely u/s, which is awesome because you get an early u/s :D ), and even if it's nothing you'll feel better knowing...it was nothing for me, and I still went and got it checked out.

i think it sounds pretty darn pregnancy related too! its SO annoying to me that they cant just make me a freakin appt. to take some blood and look at the baby to make sure its ok....i could give a damn less about my arm if the baby looks good,,,soo to me it is pregnancy related! but of course on the phone i was just a mumbleing mess of ok mhmm and thank you's and i didnt say any of these clever things to the nurse....but i feel like a dork calling back!! ugh im just frusterated also becuz i have a port in my chest which makes me at a higher risk for blood clots and pregnancy makes me at a higher risk for blood clots in itself and i take a baby asprin a day to help with that...so you would think they would see that in my chart that they "looked over" and would bring me in just in case!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! so annoying!

Well if you go in..it kinda is pregnnacy related when you think about it!! lol Something is going on and you want to know if baby is ok...so there going to have to check baby and everything else to make sure baby stays fine right,...(hence to me this sounds pregnancy related!! ) LOL My arm kinda falls asleep sometimes too and only started recently..its actually my hand! lol So im think it is pregnancy related..I think your baby is fine but maby if you call the er and tell them...ask can this be pregnancy related and will they charge you outside of your preggers insc!! I am so freaking glad we have mcp covergae where im to!! haha

lol okay well i just talked to a nurse and they have no idea what could be causing this she's gonna have a nurse practitioner look at my chart and i might have to get some blood drawn to test my electrolights or something ...but they think its not pregnancy related...even though this has never happened to me outside of pregnancy before!
so the nurse practitioner called back this time and said she has never heard of this happening and doesnt think its pregnancy related so she suggested i go in to see my gp or the er to make sure im ok....BUT i cant do that because i only have pregnancy medical...i dont have regular insurance! and im not about to go into the e.r for my arm falling asleep when itll end up costing me 5 thousand dollars!
this is so frusterating...i thought i saw a high risk clinic for a reason..because theyre used to dealing with things that dont normally happen during pregnancy! i just want to know the baby is ok...i could care less about my stinkin arm...u would think they would be curious to make sure baby is ok too...even if it doesnt seem like its pregnancy related!

I think putting in a call was the right thing to do.  Have you tried lying on your left side?  Does it happen then, too?

the weird thing is i havent been laying weird at all and ive tried multiple positions to try to get it to stop and  i cant see anyway that my blood flow would be restricted because of how im laying....anywho put a call in to a nurse...waiting for a call back! thanks for the help!

I think you should call your OB.  You may think you're only 13 wks. and it shouldn't happen but it could be your blood flow is being restricted somewhat b/c of the way you're laying.  Hmmmm... interesting.  I vote for call your doc.
