I have that pain EVERY month and it *****.  it alternates ovaries so one month it could be the right ovary next month it could be left. For me it hurts for around 24 hours like as if my ovary is about to burst (it hurts a lot).  But i do know when I'm ovulating so I don't need tests...

Hi,

I get ovulation pain. Its kind of not like period pain, more like a slight 'pressure' pain i gues you could say. Some girls get it some dont. I never got the pain on the pill, but now that im off the pill i get the pain, and im glad because im TTC so i know when im ovulating. Put it this way - i dont have to buy ovulation test kits - i know already!! So yes it is normal to get the pain.

Yes, you can have pain during ovulation and it can last up to two weeks, it can last minutes all the way up to 48 hours. Cyst can also cause pain also, i guess if i was her, she should be monitoring when she think she is going to ovulate, or get checked out to make sure she does not have cyst.  I have a 2.2 cm cyst but it does not cause any pain.  I also have terrible menstrual cramps.  Hope this helped some
