I work for a pediatric group so I am familiar with all the inner workings :-) if you have any questions feel free to ask!

I just asked today! Lol when you give birth you call the pediatrics of your choice and let them know you gave birth. They have a set up of questions for u.

Right now as long as you know who you are using that's all you need. Your pediatrician won't register you at the office until baby is born since they need a fate of birth. When you go in to deliver they will ask you if you've selected a pediatrician, once baby is born they will call to notify that pediatrician and if they have privileges at your hospital they will come see you before you are discharged. If they do not you will be seen by the resident pediatrician and they will tell you when to follow up with the Dr you've chosen.
