please help me understand

i was told that I was 5 weeks pregnant from my hcg blood work. I started to bleed and went for an ultrasound and they couldnt find anything not even a sac and my levels had dropped ... Did I lose the baby

Oh, sorry for your loss. But if you miscarry naturally , it is much better and safer  than having D&C. And you can try to conceive again sooner.

If you miscarry everything naturally they dont need to do a d&c...your doc should have told you when to go back in for a follow up to see how everythings healing and to see if you need one...sorry for your loss.

Yes I had them rechecked and they had dropped .. thanks for your comment the doctors left me hanging with no answers at all. I was afraid that i had miscarried but i have known other women to have to have a d&c why didnt they doctor say anything about that to me

Hi,
How do you know that your levels dropped ? did they recheck your hcg level? If your levels dropped --that's a bad thing, sorry.
But with my 1st pregnancy I was bleeding a lot and at 5 weeks they didn't see anything in my uterus and they thought it could be ectopic pregnancy. I had to do ultrasounds every 3-5 days to see the sac. Later they saw a sac and everything turned out fine. My HCG levels were growing though.
