blhaas- I used to volunteer at a pregnancy center. Those free tests are great but they aren't as sensitive as the First Response. But then again they're free.

I've been late by 2 weeks before. If you're coming off of a birth control it can take time for your body to regulate. You may not have a typical 28-day cycle. I know my cycles were around 42 days at one point after giving birth, which was a lot longer than I was used to.

So just take it easy! Re-test in three days.

I got pregnant 3 months after going off the pill, but didn't know it and ended up miscarrying.  My cycles were so messed up that when I took a test and it was negative, I just didn't test again and figured my period was just going to be late again.  I'm totally not saying you will miscarry, just trying to show that your period could still be messed up.  After my miscarriage though I got pregnant finally about 4 months later and now have an 8 week old daugther.  So I would just give your body some time to adjust, which I know it's been a while now but it could still take some more time. When I was on the pill mu period came like clockwork and when I was off of it it was very unpredictable, anywhere from 1-3 weeks late.  But test with first morning urine and pee inthe cup and dip the test in the cup (check the directions for how long to keep it in there though).

I forgot to test this morning... so I will have to let you all know tomorrow. would I still be having effects from the rod.. I thought it would've been out of my system since I have already been having regular periods?

Maybe try testing your urine in the morning with the cup method..Clinics will want you to pee so try take a lil jar with morning urine in for them to test...Being late could also be your hormones changing from the rod you had in yr arm...Good luck..
