i'm not sure if a kidney infection can delay a period you should ask your doctor

your chances of pregnancy probably aren't high since this happened on your period but it can happen the pill is just like any other emergency contraception pills the sooner you take it the more effective(according to their website 58% after 49 hours ) it is it can cause usual bleeding but they do not end a pregnancy that has already happened  so if you don't get your period within a week of when you normally do then they recommend you take a pregnancy test you can't determine pregnancy by symptoms or lack of symptoms some lucky women never have early pregnancy symptoms so if your more than a week late then you should take a pregnancy test if not then wait it might still come
