preclampcia

Does anyone know what the doctor will do if you have preclampcia? How to treat it? Don't they induce you?

I was preeclamptic with baby #1. It was caught at 28wks. I spent 2 days in the hospital being monitored then released home to strict bed rest.  Things got worse, re admitted and recieved 2 steroid shots at 33wks. They were going to induce me at 35wks however I went into labor on my own at 34 & 6. My baby has some jaundice, and some other issues related to a bad delivery but otherwise was released from the NICU 6 days later.

It'll depend on how bad it is. They'll likely want you to stay pregnant til at least 37 weeks.

I had it with my first pregnancy and I was always admitted. It started at 30 weeks but I wasn't induced, she came a day before my due date but she was underweight. She's 15 months now and doing great.

They don't induce you right away, they monitor you and your blood pressure for the rest of your pregnancy. The drs don't induce until they think its medically necessary which isn't until your third trimester at least most of the time. Plenty of women make it full term before having to be induced. But if this is something you're worried/curious about ask your dr next time you go in, they all have different policies
