preg 16yr old rape victim - SCARED AND CONFUSED! HELP PLEASE?

I am 16 years old, 17 this February.  I was raped on the beach at night on November 3, and I am pregnant as a result of it.  My family does not know yet (I want a good Christmas before I tell them...) Now when I am home alone when it is dark, I get these almost panic attacks when I am not in my room.  I have all the doors locked (checked once after I locked them), lights are on.  When I am in the open, I freak out.  My heart starts racing, my asthma acts up, and I start to shake.  It only stops when I go into my room and lock my door and double check my windows and draw the shades.  Is it typical to have new fears while pregnant, or is this something like PTSD?  I am scared, and lost...

I've got bad news.  I fell down the stairs Sunday night and yesterday, I started bleeding and my stomach hurt like hell.  Then something came out...  I was so scared...  Now I am still bleeding, but its bleeding like a period...  I think i lost the baby...  I feel terrible.  My entire body feels like its been put through the ringer, im nauseous, and tired...  ugh.  not to mention the fact that i was just getting used to the idea of being pregnant, and i was loving it... now...

I know you want to have a good xmas but on the 26th i advise you see a counselor at school or go straight to an obgyn and they will contact authorities dont let this go unknown because it can happen to someone else and you have proof of the incident..imsorry this happen to you also

I am so sorry that this happened to you.  I am also a survivor, so I know a little of what you are feeling.  Pregnancy can make the body feel funky in the beginning . . . but it sounds like you also have PTSD.  Panic attcks, hypervigilance . . . it is SOOOOOOO important that you get treatment.  Are you in treatment?  With PTSD, the  best long-term results are when someone has gotten therapy sooner rather than later.  You also can call a rape crisis hotline and speak to a counselor.

Because you were the victime of a crime, im most states, you can consent to your own treatment and your family does not have to know if you don't want them to.

Pregnancy-wise . . . see an ob right away.  There is a medical rape treatment protocol, but since you are pregnant, it needs to be modified.

There is so much support available to you . . . it is just hard to find when you are freaked out.

www.rainn.org    has info relating to rape.  please check it out.

My heart goes out to you.
