pregnancy/drug use
my friend is 7 weeks pregnant and has just stopped using iv heroin, will her detox or previous use affect the baby?

It depends on how much she was using a day. Glad to hear she quit.i had a friend doing the same i talked her through an helped her out in the,situation. She quit at 4 months her baby has adhd and otherwise healthy.keep us posted

My aunt was an addict and she quit when she was pregnant with her first two. And they came out perfectly fine. And she didn't stop with her third and he has cerbreal palsy (probably spelt wrong) and he was premature and only weighed 3 lbs 4 oz.

Since she is this early it will probably not affect the baby too much but I agree she needs to talk to the doc so at delivery they will keep an eye out on signs for the baby...like breathing or what not.
