my sister is 7 months pregnent and she is suffering from ithching from last 15 - 20 days, doctor says that alkaline level in blood is higher than normal and if the situation persists for more than a week than there is a risk for baby. if you have the detailed information , I would be very interested.

I itched like crazy.  There are different reasons for it... Mine was just streaching skin.  LOTS of lotion helped.  The skin gets dried out.  it is being streached & pulled, loosing moisture.

I know someone who developed itching all over the body in the 8th month..  it turned out to be a problem with the liver not doing its job properly so the toxins accumulate in the blood and lead to itching.... it is diagnosed by a test called LFT (Liver Function Test). She then had to take medication to keep the liver parameters in order...

Might be good to discuss with the doctor if an LFT is called for..
